About the African Caucus
The 2026 African Caucus to be hosted by The Gambia, under the theme “Transforming Africa’s Economies through Investment, Innovation, and Inclusion” convenes at a pivotal moment for the African continent. Profound global economic uncertainty, tightening financial conditions and significant structural shifts, exert mounting pressures on African economies’ fiscal space, growth and resilience.
At the same time, Africa’s demographic dynamism, deepening regional integration, natural resource endowments and rapid technological change present vast opportunities to advance economic transformation.

As we gather on the smiling coast of Africa, let us remember that our borders may define our geography, but our shared challenges define our purpose. The 2026 African Caucus in Banjul is not merely a meeting of minds, but a renewal of our vow to build an Africa that feeds itself, trades with itself, and prospers by its own hand. Welcome to The Gambia, where the future of our continent finds its voice.
Hon. Seedy K.M. Keita
Economic resilience is not a destination; it is a discipline. In the heart of Banjul, we must move beyond the rhetoric of potential and toward the reality of integration. By harmonizing our fiscal frameworks and bridging the infrastructure gap, we transform the African Caucus from a forum of discussion into a powerhouse of actionable growth. Our goal is clear: a stabilized economy that serves every African citizen.
Buah Saidy
Financial sovereignty begins with robust institutions and seamless connectivity. As custodians of our nations' wealth, we are tasked with navigating the complexities of a digital age while maintaining the bedrock of price stability. Here in Banjul, we commit to deepening our financial markets and leveraging technology to ensure that no African from the urban entrepreneur to the rural farmeris left outside the gates of the formal economy.
